follow the light

I love that Jesus said he was the light of the world on the 8th night of the festival, when the candlelight went out for the whole year. He's emphasizing that we don't need candles for light- we need Him!! And he is our light every day of the year.  

I also really liked when DJ talked about the Israelites following the pillar of fire in the desert. They were so scared of the promised land- they wanted Moses to take them back! But God knew what he was doing. He had a plan and just a short 40 years later, led the Israelites into the promised land and it was better than they could have ever imagined! This reminded me that no matter what's going on, even in the midst of coronavirus or any other uncertainty, God is in control and he knows what he's doing!! And all we have to do is keep following the Jesus, the light of the world, one day at a time, just like the Israelites did in the desert.
